The practice has two surgeries, at Mill Road, Ecclesfield and Remington Avenue, Parson Cross.

There are around 7500 patients registered with approximately a 70:30 split between both sites, our main surgery at Ecclesfield having the larger number of patients, where all our administration work is handled.

There are currently 4 GP partners & 3 salaried GPs providing a total of 40 clinical sessions per week. We are also registered as a GP training practice.

Practice staff comprise of 1 Practice Manager, 1 Assistant Manager, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant, 1 phlebotomist, 1 Clinical Admin Co-ordinator, 2 Medical Secretaries, 1 Senior Receptionist, and 10 Receptionists.

When the surgery is closed, our out-of-hours service is provided by the Sheffield GP-collaborative. Patients who dial the main practice telephone number will be given the opportunity to transfer their call to this service for urgent advice.

Our attached staff consist of Health Visitors, District Nurses and Midwives. We also provide in-house physiotherapy services from both our sites and have a counselling service at Margetson surgery.

There are a number of elderly persons homes covered by the practice and demographics indicate around 25% of our population are aged 65 or over. Many of these either live alone in their own homes or in one of the many residential homes the practice also provides services for.

Our Ecclesfield Surgery covers Ecclesfield, Grenoside, Chapeltown, part of Thorpe Hesley, High Green and Parson Cross. There is a small ethnic population and the housing is a mixture of council and privately owned.

Margetson Surgery covers most of Parson Cross with some patients on the boundaries of outlying areas. The housing is mainly council owned and there is a history of unemployment, poverty and substance abuse.

The practice welcomes new patients who live within our practice boundary and patients wishing to register can if necessary, confirm at reception whether or not they do live within the designated area.
